Unit 2 - Senses

For the second unit we have two projects, but for this post I am showing my ideas for the first project 'Senses' (a live brief from Fujifilm). I have no idea where I am going with this one as I'm not sure what sense/s I want to portray.
So my first thoughts were on texture, text and inks (sight and touch). I recently photographed my first reel, which turned out quite well. I used a Sensia 200 (50mm) so I could project my images, as an interactive outcome where I can incorporate text.
The theme I focused on was 'Temptation' using food as the content.
The first three images were taken at home:

Plums (the temptation of sex, to touch someone):

Chocolate cheesecake (temptation of indulging in food):

Poisoned Apple (temptation of tasting, like Snow White/Adam and Eve):

I loved the poisoned apple idea, so the next day I went to the studio to develop this idea.
I decided to use a model wearing a black coat to make it more mysterious (like Snow White with the witch). Some of these images were under exposed, which was a shame because I loved the compositions. The colouring of the successful images I thought were lovely. To compliment the red/green apple, I chose to use a blue backdrop. Even though the blue backdrop didn't come out very well, I still love the vibrant colouring.

These images were quite interesting with the different exposures.
The contrast I could play about with.. maybe develop into a better idea.

So for my other idea, I decided to look at inks. Mainly focusing at sight, with quotes such as "What can you see?" (sort of like Psychiatrist ink cards). I created my own ink cards, with blotting paper, coloured and black inks.
I photographed open and closed compositions, with both blurred and in focus effects.
They sort of remind me of clouds or blood..

So, shall see where it goes from here..
